Media organisations use demographics to group audiences by characteristics such as age, gender and occupation. The Sun's largest audience share is C2DE, an occupational grouping associated broadly with working-class and lower-income audiences. It includes skilled manual workers, semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers, and groups dependent on state pensions or benefits.
