Revise: Shaping, forming and joining polymersVacuum forming shapes a sheet over a three-dimensional former. HIPS is commonly used in school workshops, while PETG, ABS and acrylic can also be vacuum formed. Products include plastic egg boxes and shaped packaging trays.
In vacuum forming, air is removed from beneath the sheet; atmospheric pressure above it pushes the softened sheet against the former.
