The three-dimensional space occupied by an object or substance, measured in cubic metres (m³).
Revise: Density and the Particle ModelA block of wood and a metal block can have the same volume but very different masses. The metal block usually has more mass packed into that volume, so it has a greater density. Density therefore connects two measurements: mass and volume.
- Revise: Required Practical: Determining Density
The three-dimensional space occupied by an object or substance.
- Revise: Pressure in gases
The amount of three-dimensional space occupied by a gas, measured in cubic metres (m³).
