Vertical line chart

A vertical line chart represents each discrete value with its own vertical line. Put the values of the variable on the horizontal axis and frequency on the vertical axis. Above each value, draw a thin line from the horizontal axis to the correct frequency.

A vertical line chart shows the frequency of each ungrouped discrete numerical value. The numerical outcomes go on the horizontal axis and frequency goes on the vertical axis. A thin vertical line rises from each observed value to its frequency.

For ungrouped discrete numerical data, a frequency table or vertical line chart can display the frequency at each exact value. “Ungrouped” means that the values have not been combined into intervals.
