Revise: TenochtitlanThe dominant monument was the Templo Mayor, or Great Temple: a stepped pyramid approximately 60 metres high. Two stairways led to two shrines at its summit. One honoured Tlaloc, the god of rain; the other honoured Huitzilopochtli, the god of war.
