Paper 1
A promise or agreement to marry; it is not the wedding ceremony itself.
Revise: Act 4Act 4 consists of one scene, set before Prospero’s cell, his island dwelling. It moves from a celebration of Ferdinand and Miranda’s betrothal to the defeat of Caliban’s murder plot. These apparently different events are connected by Prospero’s attempts to direct other people: he organises both a beautiful performance and a painful punishment.
