Revise: Electromagnetic Wave SpectrumSunlight reaches Earth across the vacuum of space. Unlike sound, it does not need particles in a material to carry it. Light is an electromagnetic wave: a transverse wave that transfers energy from a source to an absorber.

Revise: Electromagnetic waves and the spectrumElectromagnetic waves can travel through a vacuum, a region containing no matter. They do not need a material medium to carry them. This allows radiation from the Sun to reach Earth through space.
A higher frequency does not mean a higher speed: all electromagnetic waves travel at the same velocity through a vacuum or air.
Include ‘in a vacuum’ when stating that all electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed.
