Paper 1
A circular opening, such as the opening at the summit of the Pantheon’s dome.
Revise: RomeThe dome has coffers, recessed panels arranged across its surface, and an oculus, a circular opening about 9 metres across at its summit. Daylight enters through this opening and moves across the interior as the sun’s position changes. The oculus is open to the weather: rainwater entering the building drains through holes in the floor.
