Revise: Research DesignStratified random sampling divides the population into relevant subgroups, or strata, and selects randomly within each in proportion to its size. For example, if 20% of the sixth-form population belongs to a particular year-and-gender category, that category would also make up 20% of the sample. This helps ensure that relevant groups are proportionately included.
