Revise: The Imam in Shi'a IslamZaydi Shi’a Islam gives special authority to the Prophet’s descendants but understands succession differently from Twelver and Nizari traditions. A qualified Imam may descend from either Hasan or Husayn and must actively challenge injustice. Leadership is not confined to the Twelver sequence of twelve Imams.
