Revise: Places of WorshipVaishnavas principally worship Vishnu, often through his incarnations Krishna or Rama. Shaivas principally worship Shiva. Vishnu is associated with preservation and Shiva with destruction, but devotees may understand their chosen deity as the Supreme, rather than simply as a god with one particular role.

Compare Vaishnava and Shaiva bhakti through both similarities and differences. Do not suggest that Shaivas only meditate or that only Vaishnavas practise devotion.
