Paper 3
The festival celebrated on 13 or 14 April which commemorates the establishment of the Khalsa and also has Punjabi harvest and new-year origins.
Keep the origins distinct: Vaisakhi commemorates the founding of the Khalsa in 1699; Sikh Divali commemorates Guru Hargobind’s release with 52 prisoners in 1619.
For Vaisakhi, identify Guru Gobind Singh, Anandpur Sahib and the foundation of the Khalsa in 1699—not just the harvest celebrations.
