Specification 1.2 · Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3
A belief or teaching held by a religious community.
Revise: Biblical Understandings of the TrinityCatholics read the passage alongside the wider biblical revelation: it shows Father, Son and Spirit acting together, while the Church’s doctrine explains that these distinct Persons are one God. The account is therefore an important biblical foundation for the Trinity, although it does not set out the later councils’ technical definitions.
