Revise: Contemporary Music in WorshipContemporary Christian music expresses Christian beliefs through relatively modern musical styles. It includes modern hymns and worship songs, ranging from reflective music to lively songs of praise. ‘Contemporary’ describes an approach to music, rather than meaning that every song has just been written: Graham Kendrick’s Shine Jesus Shine, written in 1987, remains a well-known example.
