An object's tendency to remain at rest or continue moving at uniform velocity. This term is Higher Tier only.
Revise: Newton's First LawInertia is the tendency of an object to continue in its state of rest or uniform motion. It describes why an object does not change velocity without a resultant force. Inertia is not an extra force pushing a moving object forwards: the first law describes what happens when the forces on the object balance.
