Revise: Newton's First LawConstant velocity means constant speed and constant direction, so the object travels in a straight line. Zero resultant force does not necessarily mean zero speed.
Do not write that zero resultant force means an object must be stationary. It may be stationary or moving with constant velocity.
Treat “constant velocity” as two conditions: constant speed and constant direction. Turning at constant speed still means the velocity is changing.
Do not assume that a moving object must have a forward resultant force. At constant velocity, forward and resistive forces are balanced.
