An electric current caused by an induced potential difference in a complete circuit.
If the conductor forms part of a complete circuit, that potential difference drives an induced current. This is electromagnetic induction, also called the generator effect. It is the reverse starting point from the motor effect: instead of using a current to produce movement, we use movement to produce an electrical output.
