Revise: Quadrilaterals and PolygonsA kite has two pairs of equal adjacent sides. Its diagonal through the vertices where equal sides meet is a line of symmetry: it cuts the other diagonal in half at right angles. One pair of opposite angles is equal.

A kite has two pairs of equal adjacent sides: in each pair, the sides meet at a corner. The diagonal joining those two meeting corners is its line of symmetry. It meets the other diagonal at right angles and cuts that diagonal in half.
For a kite, look for two pairs of equal adjacent sides, not equal opposite sides.
For a kite, only one diagonal bisects the other. Do not claim that the diagonals bisect each other.
