Revise: Modern Conflicts: Post-1945 to 2010The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) was launched at a large public meeting in London in February 1958. It advocated unilateral nuclear disarmament: Britain should give up its own nuclear weapons without waiting for other countries to do the same. Campaigners hoped Britain could take the initiative when international negotiations were failing to stop the arms race.
