Revise: The Women's Movement and LGBTQ+ RightsTitle VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 addressed this broader problem by prohibiting employment discrimination on grounds including sex. Women could use it to challenge discriminatory hiring and promotion. The Act established the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or EEOC, to investigate complaints.
