Keyhole surgery

Keyhole surgery uses small cuts through which surgeons insert a camera and specialised instruments. The camera provides a view of the operating area without requiring a large opening. Smaller wounds can mean less pain and scarring, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.

Keyhole surgery, also called laparoscopic surgery, allows operations through much smaller cuts. A camera provides a view inside the body, while instruments allow the surgeon to carry out the procedure.
