Revise: Growing OppositionParliament also passed the Quebec Act. This was a separate measure, but colonial opponents grouped it with the Coercive Acts as the Intolerable Acts. It extended Quebec’s boundaries westwards, conflicting with colonial hopes for western expansion, and granted religious toleration to Roman Catholics in Quebec.
