Paper 1
Revise: Geography of North AmericaMoving west from the Atlantic, settlers encountered the Appalachian Mountains, the Mississippi River system, the open grasslands of the Great Plains and then the Rocky Mountains. These regions offered different opportunities, but reaching them involved crossing considerable natural barriers.
