Revise: Migrants to and from BritainThe Flight of the Earls in 1607 was a turning point. Leading Gaelic Irish chiefs and their followers left Ireland, and the government confiscated extensive lands. These were divided mainly among new English and Scottish landowners called undertakers, who undertook to bring settlers onto their estates.
