Revise: A ‘Golden Age’A fashionable wealthy man might wear a doublet, a short, close-fitting jacket, with breeches and stockings. Breeches could reach the knee or take the form of shorter, puffed-out trunkhose. Padding created fashionable shapes, while slashes in outer garments allowed contrasting lining or underclothing to show through.
