Revise: Aftermath of WarThe Arab League advised host countries not to grant Palestinian refugees citizenship. Its stated purpose was to preserve Palestinian identity and protect the claim to return: permanent settlement elsewhere might weaken that claim. Lebanon and Egypt followed this advice, whereas Jordan did not.
