Paper 2
Revise: The Six Day WarFatah, led by Yasser Arafat, was a Palestinian nationalist movement initially separate from the PLO. It pursued armed action against Israel and began launching attacks in 1965. Syria supported Fatah, but Palestinian raids also came through neighbouring territories, including Jordan.
Explain escalation through linked actions and reactions: Syrian support for Fatah → Israeli retaliation → pressure on Nasser to support Syria.
