Consumption

Distribution and consumption answer different questions. Distribution asks where a resource occurs; consumption asks where and how much it is used. A country with large oil reserves does not necessarily consume the most oil.

Consumption includes buying goods and services, but also using resources such as energy. Shopping places reveal something about both cultural preferences and household spending power.
