A coastline where bands of rock run parallel to the shoreline.
Revise: Coastal Physical ProcessesOn a concordant coastline, rock bands run parallel to the shoreline. An outer band of resistant rock can protect weaker rock behind it. If the sea breaks through that outer band, it can erode the weaker rock more rapidly and widen an inlet behind the opening.
