Paper 2
Revise: Postcard from a Travel Snob“I’m not your sun-and-sangria-two-weeks- / small-minded-package-philistine-abroad).” (lines 11–12) turns a list of holiday associations into one sprawling insult. Sangria is an alcoholic drink associated with Spain; “two-weeks” and “package” evoke a conventional organised holiday. “Philistine” condemns the imagined tourist as uncultured.
