Revise: Textile Shaping TechniquesUnderstitching controls an edge rather than fullness. A facing is an inside piece that finishes an opening; a lining is an inner fabric layer. Stitching the facing or lining to the seam allowance close to the joined edge helps stop it rolling out and becoming visible.
