Revise: Stock Forms and TypesThe same metal might be bought as a solid bar, a flat sheet or a hollow tube. Each provides a different starting point for making a product.
A flat panel of material whose thickness is small compared with its length and width.
Separate the metal from its stock form: aluminium is a material; aluminium sheet is a material supplied in a particular form.
Distinguish the polymer from its stock form: acrylic is a material; sheet is a stock form.
When justifying a choice, link the form to the product or process: sheet provides the flat starting surface needed for vacuum forming.
