Revise: Finishes and TreatmentsHot foil blocking transfers a decorative foil onto paper or board using a heated metal die and pressure. A die is a shaped tool carrying the required design. It presses the foil against the surface; heat activates the adhesive so that the design remains on the paper or board when the unused foil is removed.
