Revise: Thermosetting PolymersPolyester resin is particularly useful with glass fibres to make glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), also called fibreglass. This is a composite: the resin holds the fibres together and gives the component its shape, while the fibres provide reinforcement. Applications include kayak hulls and shower bases, where a shaped, rigid component is needed.
