Revise: System Manufacturing ProcessesThe board is placed in an etchant such as ferric chloride. This dissolves the unprotected copper, while the resist protects the copper beneath it. Etching is complete when the unwanted copper has been removed, exposing the insulating base between the remaining tracks.
