A light-sensitive coating used to create a protective pattern over copper during PCB manufacture.

Revise: Modification of propertiesA photosensitive board has a copper surface covered with photoresist, a coating that changes when exposed to light. A patterned mask controls which areas receive UV light. This creates a resist pattern that protects the wanted copper during etching.
In PCB manufacture, developer removes selected photoresist; etchant removes exposed copper. These are different stages.
