The height of a sound wave measured from its central position.

Revise: Digital Sound SamplingThe computer does not store every point on the continuous wave. Instead, the wave's amplitude, or height, is measured at regular time intervals. Each measurement is called a sample.
When explaining sampling, state what is measured: the amplitude (height) of the sound wave, at regular time intervals.
