Stakeholder

A stakeholder is an individual or group that affects or is affected by a business's activities. Owners have a financial interest in the business, but employees depend on it for their wages, customers use its products and nearby residents experience the effects of its operations. All are stakeholders, even though they do not all own the business.

A stakeholder is an individual or group with an interest in a business’s activities. Stakeholders can affect the business, be affected by it, or both. They do not all own it: someone who works for a business, buys its products or lives near its premises can also be a stakeholder.
