Revise: Evaluating ContraceptionThe combined and progestogen-only pills are over 99% effective with perfect use, but about 91% effective with typical use. Missing a pill, taking it at the wrong time, or vomiting or having diarrhoea before it has been absorbed can reduce its effectiveness. The contraceptive injection is about 94% effective with typical use and must be renewed at the correct time.
