Data in which each observation contains a pair of values for two variables.

The line where the two sides of a graphical inequality are equal; it separates points that satisfy the inequality from points that do not.

A box plot represents a distribution using its minimum, lower quartile, median, upper quartile and maximum.

Symbols grouped to show that the expression inside is to be treated as a single unit, as in $4(x+2)$.

Removing a common non-zero factor from a numerator and denominator, or from equivalent parts of a calculation, to simplify it without changing its value.

The amount a container can hold, commonly expressed in millilitres or litres.

A method of estimating population size by marking one sample, releasing it and counting the marked individuals found in a later sample.

Data whose values are names or labels placing items into groups, such as colours or methods of travel.

A relationship in which a change in one variable directly produces a change in another.

The collection of data from every member of a population.

The angle formed at the centre of a circle by two radii.

The point that is the same distance from every point on a circle.

A straight line joining two points on a curve, whose gradient gives the average rate of change between those points.

A circle is the set of all points in a plane that are the same distance from a fixed centre.

The distance around the boundary of a circle.

The value halfway between the lower and upper boundaries of a class interval.

The difference between the upper and lower boundaries of a class interval.

The numerical factor multiplying a variable or power, such as $3$ in $3n^2$.

Points that lie on the same straight line.

A way of writing a 2D vector with horizontal movement on top and vertical movement below, such as $\begin{pmatrix}-5\\-3\end{pmatrix}$.

A selection formed by choosing one item or option from each required group or stage.

The result of applying two or more transformations in succession.

An event made from two or more outcomes or stages, such as obtaining a red counter and then a blue counter.

An outcome formed by considering the results of two or more stages together.

The fixed amount added to each term of an arithmetic progression to obtain the next term.

A factor shared by every term in an expression.

A multiple shared by two or more numbers.
