Weak correlation

For weak correlation, an overall direction is visible, but the points are more widely scattered around it. Knowing one variable gives a less clear indication of the other variable. If there is no apparent upward or downward pattern, describe the diagram as showing no correlation rather than forcing a trend onto it.
