A classification used when there is no clear overall trend. AQA uses this description for coefficients strictly between $-0.2$ and $0.2$ .

With no correlation, there is no clear upward or downward trend. A scattered cloud should not be described as weak positive or weak negative unless there is a recognisable direction.
