The extent to which a test or measurement measures what it was intended to measure.

Revise: Data reliability and validityTwo important questions are “Would we get similar results if we repeated this?” and “Are we measuring what we intended to measure?” These concern reliability and validity respectively.
For validity, identify what the investigation intends to measure and explain whether the method measures it.
Repeating a test checks reliability; it does not by itself prove validity. Use details from the question rather than simply saying the data can be trusted.
