Revise: Extraneous variables and control groupsMatched pairs help control these differences: each person in the test group is paired with someone in the control group who has similar relevant characteristics.
For matched pairs, name relevant matching characteristics and explain how matching reduces the influence of differences between participants. It does not guarantee that all extraneous variables are controlled.
