Prejudice

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and other LGBTQ+ people have faced legal persecution and may experience prejudice and discrimination. Exclusion or fear of hostility can restrict participation in workplaces and public life, reducing people's freedom to express their identity or challenge unfair treatment.

Prejudice is a preconceived judgement about a person or group. Discrimination is unequal treatment. The distinction matters because an attitude and an action are not the same thing.
