Septuagint

The Septuagint, an ancient Greek translation of Jewish scriptures, became associated with a wider collection than the Hebrew Jewish canon. Many early Christians used Greek scriptures, and Christian communities inherited somewhat different collections. The later Latin Vulgate, widely used in Catholic Christianity, also included the disputed books.
