Revise: Prayer in the HomeThe daily prayer routine is called Nitnem. ‘Nit’ means daily or always, and ‘nem’ means practice or routine. Setting aside time for prayer gives a Sikh a regular opportunity to turn their attention towards God, reflect on the Gurus’ teachings and renew their commitment to living by them.

Revise: WorshipNitnem means the daily prayers. These are recited in the morning, traditionally before dawn, in the evening and before sleep. This pattern gives the day a religious rhythm: ordinary activities take place within a life shaped by worship.
Do not describe Nitnem as simply a way to gain good luck or rewards: understanding and responding to the prayers are central.
Distinguish daily Nitnem prayers from Naam Simran, which can continue as remembrance of God throughout ordinary activities.
