Muslims believe that earlier revelations have not survived unchanged in their original form, whereas the Qur'an preserves Allah's word.

Kutub means revealed holy books; it is not the name of one particular scripture. Muslims believe that Allah gave guidance to prophets before Muhammad, so revelation did not begin with the Qur’an.
