Used by AQA
Paper 1
Revise: Five Pillars and Obligatory ActsSunni Islam expresses its central duties through the Five Pillars. Shi'a Islam has a framework called the Ten Obligatory Acts. These frameworks overlap, so they should not be understood as two entirely separate ways of worshipping.
Distinguish practices from beliefs: the Five Pillars and Ten Obligatory Acts put faith into action.
Jihad is practised in both Sunni and Shi'a Islam. It is one of the Ten Obligatory Acts, but not one of the Five Pillars.
