Paper 1
Revise: Planning and Conducting ResearchIn matched pairs, participants are paired on a relevant characteristic, such as memory ability, and one member of each pair completes each condition. This attempts to reduce participant differences without requiring anyone to complete both tasks. Its effectiveness depends on the matching: people matched on one characteristic may still differ on others that affect performance.
